well i got my new mirrors from lmc truck today. comes with some screws, washers, plastic weird looking tan screw things, a black plate, and the mirror itself. also comes with some worthless instructions..... can anyone help me with a step by step on how to put these on the door? do you have to take off the door panel on the inside at all? im a newbie so dumb it down for me....dont want to just start drilling holes and not do it right. thanks. mark here's some pics

I may be wrong, but those new mirrors don't seem to be correct for your truck. The new ones you have (I assume the ones on the ground) fit my 82 and 83 c10's. To install, there should be 3 bolts (1/2'' or 9/16'' can't remember) that screw into the outside of the door. You do not have to remove anything on the inside of the door. After you have the mirror secure with the 3 bolts, then you slide the metal cover down and screw in a star nut/screw (whatever) on the underside of the metal cover. Again I may be wrong, but the mirrors on your truck look like the 3/4 ton style which I don't think match up with the mirrors you have on the ground.

Oops! After re-reading your post it seems obvious that you know they don't match up. Anyways, that is the correct installation info.

OK boss this is how it works. The black Gasket goes on the out side of the door see the four spikes faces you, then steel part lines up with the Plastic spikes then mark the three holes on the door if they gave you plastic screw nuts that go in the holes should tell you how they work on your sheet keep window up drill what ever size they say then square the holes so the plastic nuts pop in hold. line up the black gasket, steel plate then screw in the three screws. Oh the fat side (wide side ) top on the gasket . Does this make sense? or you you need a pic

after the mounting of your new mirrors which will fit perfectly on your doors, you will have to weld shut the holes you will have from the old mirrors...

bohica, about swapping the ole green for the scottsdale; my opinion.. first thing i wonder about is, can you get diesel as easy as gas in the usa?a 4X4 guzzles more than a 2X4(if the ole green is a 2X4), you know all the goods and bads about the ole green, did you take a test drive with the scottsdale allready? the scottsdale is more common compared to the ole greener...the green might be rusty but i'm sure the scotts is too,i mean, they both need work.Me, i would keep the greener and restore it, knowing what i know about the two trucks at this moment, which is very little, lol!sleep on it, you'll figure it out!

well ole green the bonanza is 4x4 with 4 in lift and 35 in tires....it guzzles gas like nobodys business. however there is no rust except on the front right fender. the scottsdale is 4x4 but not lifted and regular tires and diesel the gas mileage for these is about 17mpg. ole green probably gets 8-9. The guy who had ole green b4 me put the lift and brand new tires on. but i dont go 4 wheeling. i just want a nice looking truck but prefer 4x4 due to the snow we get here. i was going to run it this way until the 35 in tires (90%) tread wear down and then lower the truck back to stock and getsome 32 in tires i dont know what to do
