I have a 79 1/2 ton w/350...4x4. Couple questions. The 4x4 shifter is very hard to near impossible to shift into 4-wheel. Is there a fix for this? I feel I need a cheater bar/pipe to shift, but don't want to damage anything. If I do put a pipe on it to shift (to get more leverage), am I going to damage anththing? Right now, that's the only way to shift the 4x4...urgh! Please help, thanks.

When I first got my truck, the 4x4 shifter was the same way. It was a simple job to lube the pivots at the transfer case. When I got my truck, the 4x4 hadnt been used in some time.

My shifter for my 4x4 is extremely loose. I have to have a tie down to keep it in place. Anyone have any ideas?
